When recreating a part makes sense
Plastic parts with a clear shape that do not carry high continuous loads are good candidates: covers, panels, knobs, clips, brackets, adapters, spacers and feet. Parts that carry weight, brake, hold pressure or become hot are more difficult. Tell us what the part must withstand and we will assess whether 3D printing is suitable before work starts.
The four things that help us
- Photos from several angles. Phone photos are sufficient. Photograph the front, back, sides and mounting points. Place an object of known size next to it, such as a ruler or coin.
- The key measurements. Overall dimensions, hole spacing, material thickness and diameters. A sketch with measurements is enough.
- What the part does. Where it is installed, what it holds and exactly what needs to fit.
- The original part, if available. Even broken, it is the best reference. We return it to you.
If you do not know the measurements
Photograph the part beside an object of known size. A Swiss five-franc coin is 31.45 mm in diameter and a two-franc coin is 27.4 mm. This lets us estimate dimensions from the photo. We clarify the rest with you before anything begins.
Process and price
Send the details through the project request. We reply with an assessment covering the design effort, suggested material, price and time frame. You then decide. If preferred, you can order only the completed 3D model without having it printed.
